Classification Of Kratom In Vermont

Vermont placed the main alkaloids in kratom on the controlled substance list back in 2016. This placed kratom alongside dangerous drugs such as LSD and heroin. However, kratom is an all-natural herb. 

While kratom is not listed on the controlled substance list, the two main alkaloids are. So, this classifies kratom as illegal. This has left many users in Vermont confused. There are petitions in motion to help overturn this law. However, they have not been successful yet.

In 2020, a new bill was presented that aimed to legalize kratom. This bill is currently with the Judiciary Committee. At this point, there has not been any movement on the bill. The issue in Vermont is not kratom but the fact that the industry is not regulated. 

The AKA is working with state officials to try and lift the kratom ban. They are also hoping they can get this state on board with the KCPA.

The American Kratom Association has been heavily involved in trying to overturn the kratom bans across the nation. This organization has gone the extra mile for the kratom community. This organization has made strides in regulating the industry. 

They have put in place GMP protocols for vendors to adhere to. While they are not mandated, for a vendor to be endorsed by the AKA they must follow these regulations. In addition, the AKA created the KCPA. Follow the AKA and offer your support when you can. 

Kratom Consumer Protection Act

The KCPA has already been adopted by Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. Other states are considering this act but have not yet taken the steps to get it in motion.
